Lifestyle Fitness invites you to join our Golf Fitness Program. This program will be led by (TPI) Certified Golf Fitness Instructor, Bobby Talley, and will include TPI screenings, custom 3D swing analysis, and custom golf fitness programs created by TPI specialists.
What is TPI?
TPI is the world’s leading educational organization dedicated to the study of how the human body functions in relation to the golf swing. Since its inception in 2003, TPI has studied thousands of golfers ranging from top professional Tour players to weekend enthusiasts. TPI discovered how a properly functioning body allows a player to swing a golf club in the most efficient way possible. Additionally, TPI has analyzed how physical limitations in a player’s body can adversely affect the golf swing and potentially lead to injury.
The TPI philosophy:
TPI DOES NOT BELIEVE IN ONE WAY TO SWING A GOLF CLUB, BUT RATHER IN AN INFINITE NUMBER OF SWING STYLES. WE DO BELIEVE THAT THERE IS ONE EFFICIENT WAY FOR EVERY GOLFER TO SWING, AND IT IS BASED ON WHAT THAT PLAYER CAN PHYSICALLY DO.
What is a TPI Screen and why is it necessary?
The most efficient golf swing is not the same for every golfer because efficiency is unique to each golfer’s body. To achieve an efficient swing, a golfer must first be screened. The screening involves an assessment of your swing mechanics and biomechanics, movement quality, physical fitness, health and health history.
Once your screening is complete, the results are used to create a plan that is unique for each golfer. The plan will include; fitness training, analyzing swing mechanics and biomechanics, as well as nutritional guidance.
What is Kinematic Sequence and how does it apply to your golf swing?
Have you ever wondered how someone such as Jim Furyk won the U.S. Open with that ugly golf swing? Have you wondered how players such as Raymond Floyd or John Daly had such successful careers with such unorthodox golf swings? Fortunately, with the aid of 3D motion capture systems, researchers have been able to identify the true measurement of a good golf swing. The answer is in the efficiency of your swing compared to the best players in the world. In other words, there are a lot of ugly swings on the PGA TOUR, but they all seem to be getting the job done. So, the real question you should be asking yourself right now is… “How can I make my golf swing get the job done?” By Using data collected from our 3D motion analysis systems, we can look at how golfers generate speed and then transfer that speed or energy throughout their bodies. TPI has found the most efficient sequence of how they transfer this speed to the club head. They call this the “KINEMATIC SEQUENCE.” What is amazing about this is that all great ball strikers have a remarkably similar kinematic sequence of generating speed and transferring that speed throughout their golf swing.
